1/11/19 ^^^Final words on indulgence

I concluded that indulgence grows in direct proportion with the money that we have.  There is no limit to indulgence to a point that eventually it becomes ridiculous.  That is when you have too much money and you don't know what to do with it anymore.

So I decided to draw a line.  No more indulgence after this and from now on I only spend RM100 a month max.

I had enough.  When I compare the Street Urchin and the 5600 Solar, they are the same watches.  Now that is ultimate indulgence in my book; buying the same thing twice because the first is a reasonably priced imitation.  I should have used it for a while before buying the 5600 Solar.  However I am indulging myself by buying it.  So now, I just live with the notion that I paid twice for the same watch.

Since I planned to replace the Street Urchin the minute it breaks down, I might as well use it as a daily beater.  There should not be a special treatment unless we are talking about it taking direct beating or submerging it in the water.

After all the watch feels pretty much like a normal watch I pay RM150 for.  It is a normal watch.  Not a G-Shock.  For the amount of money I paid for it I expect it to give me a decent value in term of durability.

An imitation with this kind of quality cannot be that bad.  After all it is a digital watch.  Surely the components are as durable as a normal Casio at the very least..

----------------------

Fuck, the screen went blank again and it loses 5 seconds from the last time I looked at it 1 hour ago.  If the time cannot be accurate then it has to go.  I can't have an inaccurate watch in my stable.

But here is the deal.  You get what you pay for.  For RM 147.16  I think I'll keep it just to see how far it will go.

-----------------------

Maybe there is a lesson here.  Oh yes, if the deal is too good, get the hell out of there.  Other than that I think the most prominent lesson is YOU GOTTA STOP BUYING THINGS YOU DON'T NEED.

I'll keep the watch as a reminder that I am still make stupid mistakes.  It actually can be avoided if I was not gullible.  Hahaha what a joke.  A Limited Edition for that price.  What was I thinking?  I thought nobody is going to buy that watch and thus they have to slash the price down.  I was being naive.  I took the merchant's word at face value.

Notice the time on the watch?  I didn't plan it.  I guess that's part of Divine Revelation.  OK then, I'm not returning the watch.

Honestly speaking, I like the watch.

--------------------------

Fine, let's past that.  Let's look at the implementation of the CITIZEN SOLDIER VARIATION.  Basically what it tells me is to not be too naive in life.  As long as I am gullible I can still get conned.  So the watch is a warning to me to be more careful with my life.

It is also an early indicator for me not to waste my money unnecessarily.  For RM147.16 I didn't buy a watch.  I actually bought a lesson in life.  It is also an epiphany of what lies ahead.

When I wear the Street Urchin on my left hand and the 5600 Solar on my right, I feel very levelheaded indeed.  I feel that although the two watches are almost identical, they are worlds apart.  One is a watch from hell while the other was heaven sent.

I simply love the polarities between the two watches.

If I'm saying that my Path is straight, then this is definitely part of the journey.  I am pretty sure this mark the ending to all my indulgences especially when comes to buying more watches.

This watch really is me.  I am a Street Urchin.  So this is really a reminder of who I am.  No matter what I do and how far I go, I am still who I am.

I cannot get rid of the watch.  It is the Watch of Wolfsschanze.  I will maintain it until it cannot perform anymore.

Talk about assigning meaning to life's experience.  Now it's not just my cheapest watch.  It links me back to Al Araf 7:7.
